Assam Is Drowning- Deadly Floods In Assam, Around 45 Lakh People Affected & Death Toll Rises To 85

Do you know that Assam is drowning? Assam is still drowning in deadly floods. The deadly flood wreaks havoc in all over Assam due to climate change & the Brahmaputra river's water level crosses warning level. Day by day Assam's flood situations go worsens and the death toll rises to 85. Among the deceased, 59 people died in inundation and the other 26 died due to landslides. Nearly 3,218 villages are underwaters and more than 4.5 million peoples are affected in this massive devastation of floods. Around 1,03,806.15 hectares of crop area has been damaged by the flood water in Assam.

The flood situation in Assam has worsened and the flood was triggered by incessant rain and rising level of the Brahmaputra river. Floods have left in the back of a path of destruction in Assam. Nearly 95% area of the Kaziranga National Park, Tiger Reserve spread over 430 sq. km, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, and Manas National Park continue to remain affected and submerged by deadly floodwater in Assam. Till now at least 76 animals of the park including 5 Rhinos have died in this deadly flood and several others were spotted at the National Highway, trying to escape the floods. A herd of wild elephants affected by floods wandered into empty villages in search of food.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Assam State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel, alongside nearby administrations, are constantly running to rescue the affected humans and rendering remedy offerings to the marooned villagers. Flood-hit districts of Assam are Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Udalguri, Darrang, Baksa, Nalbari, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia.

The world's largest riverine island Majuli is drowning in the deadly flood, lives at stake. Several villages of the river island were submerged under floodwater. Year after year, Majuli locals face the wrath of nature as floods play havoc within the riverine island. Majuli locals stranded in neck-deep water as floods play havoc at the river island. Nearly more than one lakh people affected by the massive rampant floods this year. Majuli is literally underwater which has been facing one of the worst situations of floods this year. More than one lakh people were displaced and lost their homes due to massive floods destruction.

The situation of Assam and the condition of the people of Assam is getting worse day by day. The people of Assam are having a tough time battling with the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the devastating flood. So,
